Zoom Objective
0.7X to 4.5X with 6.5:1 Zoom Ratio
Unitron's zoom objective has many of the same
characteristics and excellent performance you have come to expect from our ZSB and ZST
Zoom Stereo Microscopes. The objective is capable of magnification ranges of 3.5x to 180x
using a suitable combination of eyepieces and supplementary lens attachments. Such
combinations will also provide a wide range of fields of view and working distances.
The chart below illustrates these variables using a l0x eyepiece as an example. |

| Complementary accessories for the O.7X-4.5x zoom
objective. include four supplementary lenses O.5x. O.75x. 1.5x and 2.0x that thread into
the bottom of the objective, and an attachable fiber optic coaxial illuminator that will
provide true on axis illumination in a range of 1.5x to 4.5x as engraved on the zoom
objective. We recommend using this illuminator without the supplementary lens attachments.
Obvious applications include viewing semiconductor devices where the interference colors
can only be observed in this type of light. and any recessed structure not easily viewed
with side illumination. |
| The zoom lens is routinely supplied with a royal society
mount. While it will naturally fit any nosepiece, caution should be taken to insure a tube
length of 170mm is maintained or parfocality throughout the zoom range cannot be achieved.
Complete compatibility and zoom parfocality can be expected when used on the Unitron
Shopscopes. The overall length is four inches, with a central knurled collar used to
manipulate the zoom feature. This prevents illuminators fixtured on the bottom of the
objective from rotating. |
